Who we are
Legal judgement and technical capability, in the same room.
DataFort Solutions Ltd. is a privacy and cybersecurity advisory firm based in Dublin, keeping businesses compliant since 2013 across the European Union and the European Economic Area. We exist because the two halves of this problem are usually bought separately and then fail to meet in the middle. We deliver both through one network — and send you one invoice for it.
Why we exist
Compliance advice that cannot be implemented is not advice.
Lawyers describe the obligation. Engineers describe the system. Too often nobody owns the sentence that connects them, and the organisation is left holding a legal opinion it cannot operationalise and a security roadmap nobody has tested against the regulation.
We staff engagements with both perspectives from the first meeting. The adviser who writes that a retention period must be enforced is in the same conversation as the person who will have to find the deletion job and prove it ran.
That is also why we say no more often than most firms. If a scoping call reveals that you need a focused two-week piece of work rather than a programme, we will say so, and we will tell you when you do not need us at all.

Our track record
Built on a network, not a headcount
Select a figure to read what sits behind it.
A trusted legal network across Europe
Our legal partners bring long-standing experience in privacy, regulatory compliance, and commercial law across European countries and European Union jurisdictions. This network gives clients access to trusted local counsel with the country-specific insight needed to navigate cross-border data matters with confidence.
Security built for businesses that are growing
More than 400 companies trust our combined legal and technical perspective to turn complex requirements into practical action. We help leadership teams make confident decisions, strengthen resilience, and protect the data that keeps their businesses moving.
GDPR compliance with lasting discipline
Our compliance approach brings together governance, documentation, risk management, and ongoing advisory support. The result is a clear, maintainable privacy program that keeps organisations prepared as regulations, technologies, and business operations evolve.
In-house expertise, strengthened by our network
Our 70+ technology experts combine in-house capability with a trusted specialist network covering security assessments, penetration testing, incident response, and threat mitigation. You get the depth required for complex risks with the practical support to act quickly.
Our approach
Five commitments that shape every engagement
Evidence over assertion
We report what we found, where we found it and what we could not verify. A finding without evidence behind it is an opinion, and we label it as one.
Proportionality
GDPR is a risk-based instrument. A twelve-person company and a pan-European group carry the same obligations and should not receive the same programme. We scope to the risk.
No surprises
A weekly position during delivery and a draft issued for factual accuracy review mean that nothing in a final report should be news to the people who have to act on it.
Independence
We do not resell security products and we take no commission from the tools we recommend. If a control can be met with what you already own, that is the recommendation you will get.
Single accountability
However many specialists a matter needs, you deal with one engagement manager and receive one invoice. We engage the network, we coordinate it, and we answer for the result.
Transferable capability
The objective is a programme you can run without us. Documentation is written to be maintained by your team, not to be unreadable without the consultant who produced it.
Partner network
One engagement. One invoice. A continent of specialists behind it.
Cross-border data matters rarely stay in one jurisdiction. Member State derogations, national employment-law overlays, local supervisory-authority practice and language all shape the answer — and most firms respond by handing you a list of names to go and contract with yourself.
We do the opposite. DataFort delivers the consultancy through its own network of privacy, legal and technical specialists across European countries and EU jurisdictions. When a matter touches three Member States, we bring in the right partner in each one, instruct them, coordinate them and pay them. You run one procurement exercise, hold one engagement, brief one engagement manager and settle one invoice.
Why this matters commercially. You are not managing a panel of suppliers, reconciling several sets of terms, or chasing advisers who each see one part of the picture. The specialists we bring in are engaged by us, bound by our confidentiality and security obligations, and briefed with the full context of your matter — and DataFort remains accountable to you for the work the network delivers. The position is set out in section 10 of our Terms of Service.

Our own house
How we hold ourselves to the same standard
It would be difficult to advise on accountability without practising it. These are the arrangements that apply to DataFort itself.
Client material is segregated by engagement and access is restricted to the personnel assigned to that matter. Confidentiality obligations survive the end of an engagement and bind our personnel and approved subcontractors. Where a potential conflict arises between clients, we will raise it before accepting the work. Confidentiality does not apply to information that is public without breach, already lawfully known, independently developed, lawfully received from another source, or required to be disclosed by law — and where disclosure is compelled and we are legally permitted to say so, we will give you advance notice.
We ask clients not to send live production data, credentials or special-category personal data where a redacted, masked, synthetic or test dataset would be sufficient. Where we must handle such data, it is processed under the Data Processing Agreement, held in encrypted storage within the EEA, restricted to named personnel, and destroyed or returned on the schedule stated in the engagement. Testing evidence is handled under the rules of engagement agreed for that test.
Personnel assigned to engagements are subject to confidentiality undertakings, background screening proportionate to the sensitivity of the work, and role-appropriate training. Where a specialist subcontractor is used, they are bound by equivalent obligations and, where they process personal data, by written processor terms. Named personnel are set out in the engagement document and material changes are notified to you.
DataFort does not resell security software or hardware and does not receive commission, referral fees or revenue share from vendors whose products we may recommend. Where any commercial relationship exists with a third party we recommend, it is disclosed in the deliverable. Where we have audited a control, we will not also be the party that implemented it unless you have expressly accepted that position in writing.
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of an engagement, raise it with your engagement manager first; if that does not resolve it, escalate in writing through the contact page marked for the attention of the managing director. We aim to acknowledge within three business days and respond substantively within fifteen. Where a dispute cannot be resolved, the process in section 30 of our Terms of Service applies.
